MOBILE MAMMOGRAPHY VAN
St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild supported the purchase of a Mobile Mammography Van in 1992. This fifteen year old van now needs to be replaced and the Guild has agreed to help purchase a new one over the next two years.
The Mobile Mammography Van will provide over 3,200 women in our community - who otherwise would have difficulty getting to Wishard - access to periodic screening for breast cancer right in their own communities within Marion County. For many of these women, transportation to the downtown Wishard campus is difficult if not impossible. The mobile van will travel to Wishard’s community health centers across Indianapolis where the patients already receive treatment from their primary physicians.
