Situated on 40 acres of rolling land overlooking Williams Creek, the property, inspired by the great estates of Europe, was designed by Dallas-based architect Robbie Fusch. Builder Leonard Watson began construction of the main house in 1990 for Stephen Hilbert. Possession and control of the property was transferred by the Hilberts to Conseco in January 2005.
Stunning gardens, an infinity pool and a lavish pool house invite guests to enjoy this outdoor living space. Landscape architect Jim Altum of Litchfield Landscaping created a blend of formal and casual gardens that seamlessly flow throughout the estate.
The 15,000 sq.ft. Sports Palace was built after completion of the main house. It includes a replica of Indiana University’s Assembly Hall Gym and a racquetball court.
Le Chateau Renaissance has been the site of many vibrant parties with famous guests. Kool and the Gang and Mary Wilson of the Supremes performed for partygoers. Donald Trump was an overnight guest. Indiana Pacers Reggie Miller and Rik Smits practiced their game in the Sports Palace gym.
